For months, now, I’ve been hoping that I could someday use my iPod Touch for Remote Play on my PS3 and now some programmer has done something similar to that! All you need is a PS3, an iOS device, a PC/Mac, Capture Device and an Input Interpreter. Your PC and iOS device must run everyAir. The capture device streams live video from your PS3 to your computer and everyAir will sent tap and gesture data to through the input interpreter that sends the right button presses to the PS3. It’s a lot of work to get this done, but it’s, without a doubt, impressive.
The video below features the booting and performance of LittleBigPlanet 2 on an iPhone 4, performance for God of War on an iPod Touch and performance for Gran Turismo on an iPad. From the looks of it, your PS3 doesn’t need to be hacked to do this and neither does your iDevice. everyAir can be purchased on the App Store for $4.99
