Modern Warfare 3 | Perks & Point Streak System Revelation

Excited about Modern Warfare 3′s popular multiplayer? Prepare to be even more excited with the list of Perks and the revelation of the revamped killstreak system.

Starting with the perks, Infinity Ward brings back some classic favorites, gets rid of the most infamous (a la Commando and Last Stand), and adds some new flavors into the mix as well. Below is the complete list of perks set to appear in the game, alongside a description of each. The “+” icon indicates what the pro version of each perk does.

Tier 1

  • Recon - makes explosive damage paint the target on the mini-map + makes bullet damage paint the target as well
  • Sleight of Hand -  decreases the reload time for all weapons by 50% + gives the player the opportunity to swap weapons faster
  • Blind Eye -  allows the player to be undetectable by air support and sentries + makes the player’s launchers lock-on quicker, and get extra bullet damage versus air support and sentries
  • Extreme Conditioning - allows users to sprint for longer distances + allows users to climb obstacles faster
  • Scavenger - allows you to refill your ammo from fallen foes + allows you to spawn with more ammunition than normal
Tier 2
  • Quickdraw -  makes the player aim down their sights faster + allows the user to recover from equipment and grenade usage quicker
  • Blast Shield - increases explosive resistance + makes the player immune to flashes and stuns
  • Hardline - reduces the amount of point/kill required to gain a point streak/killstreak reward by one + allows two assists to count as a kill towards your killstreak
  • Assassin - will make the player undetectable by UAV, portable radar, Thermal Scopes and Heartbeat Sensors + will make you immune to the Counter UAV and the EMP
  • Overkill - will allow you to select a primary weapon as your secondary weapon + will allow you to put two attachments on your secondary weapon
Tier 3
  • Marksman - identifies enemy targets at a longer range + allows longer hold breath
  • Stalker - will enable the player to move faster while aiming down the sights + delays enemy Claymores
  • SitRep - will allow you to see enemy explosives and equipment + will allow you to hear footsteps better
  • Steady Aim - will give you increased hip fire accuracy + will allow you to quickly aim down your sights while sprinting
  • Dead Silence - will make your footsteps almost silent + will prevent you from taking fall damage
That’s the list of perks in its entirety, and as can be seen, quick scoping now has its own perk. Now, the more exciting bit of this is the killstreak/point streak rewards. For starters, the system has been revamped a bit. When the player gains a certain amount of points, these bonuses are rewarded. Also, when the player receives his last reward, the cycle then starts again from the beginning. The new system is called a Strike Chain, and is divided into three separate Strike Packages – Assault, Support and Specialist. Assault rewards are more for the type of player who seeks to get as many kills as possible. Support rewards are for those who go for objectives and assist others around them. An important note of Support rewards is that the streak does not end upon death. Specialist rewards add more perks to your total perk count, after eight gaining the whole perks list on the player. These do reset upon death. Below is the list for each point streak in each strike package.
