DOOM 3 BFG Edition Release Date Announced

DOOM 3 BFG Edition, which includes DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 3, and the Resurrection of Evil add-on pack, finally has a release date.

Moments ago via press release, Bethesda Softworks has announced that DOOM 3 BFG Edition will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 16th, 2012 for $39.99.

The remastered collection will feature 3D, 5.1 surround sound, improved rendering and lighting, a new check-point save system and PlayStation Network trophies.

    Really looking forward to this having yesterday just finished the PS1 version of Doom, which I bought on eBay.

    I really hope Doom and Doom II get the much improved music and sound effects from the PlayStation port, instead of the mediocre original music and sound in the PC version.

    That’s good. The checkpoint system save is a welcome addition. Will buy :)

    Don’t buy the PS3 version. It’ll be crap as it can’t sustain framerate according to John Carmack. You have been warned!
