Looking forward to PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale (name is still too long)? I sure as hell am, and the inclusion of the four recently announced characters only manage to pump me up even more.
Over at the annual fighting championship EVO, two characters were revealed for PS All Stars. Probably to cater to the fighting game fans that were at the convention, it was revealed that Tekken’s own Heihachi will make it into the game. Along with Heihachi came Sony’s cat mascot who is very popular in Japan, Toro. Heihachi utilizes combos that players of Tekken will most likely beused to. His special includes blasting off enemy players on a rocket. Legen-wait for it-dary! Toro seems to take cues from a majority of different fighting game characters. Looking over at the footage, I can see bits and pieces of Liu Kang, Scorpion, Ryu and the more than obvious Akuma. A new stage was also revealed, a nice blend of Parappa the Rapper’s Chop Chop Onion Dojo and Resistance.
Along with these two characters, PlayStation fans were in for a treat over at San Diego Comic Con. Hosted by IGN’s Greg Miller, the PS All Stars panel raised a lot of questions by the on goers. Questions were raised about the similarities between the game and Nintendo’s very own Super Smash Bros. series as well as the variety of game modes we will be seeing in the game. However, the panel also revealed two new “gimme” characters into the mix. Cole MacGrath from the inFamous series will be bringing the lightning to PS All Stars as well as Jak & Daxter. Cole’s attacks will vary between his standard array of lightning moves and Amp attacks, while Jak & Daxter will vary between the wacky arsenal of weapons seen in the later titles as well as feature Dark Jak and Light Jak. My excitement for this game continues to shoot upward with each breaking announcement. Keep checking on iGG for everything PlayStation All Stars. Meanwhile, check out some screens below.
