SuperBot is trying real hard to make their upcoming game, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, stand out. The game pits characters like Kratos and Nathan Drake against other Sony mascots like Cole MacGrath and Colonel Radec. Sony fans have been asking for a game like for the longest, and it is finally here. The team at SuperBot Entertainment is composed of very familiar faces to the fighting game community, including people like Seth Killian, and they are working very hard to make this game as unique as can be. One way they are doing this is creating stages that aren’t only based on one Sony property, but two, mashing them together to create a unique backdrop composed of some wacky situations. Here are five mash-up stages I would like to see in PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale!
1. Helghan Planet/Chimera Invasion
Imagine fighting on a 2D plane warfield, where in the background a devastating war is taking place. What are PlayStation’s two famous shooters? Killzone and Resistance. What would happen if we merged the two? Imagine the Chimera running an invasion of the planet of Helghan. An astounding piece of work, of course, but what would make matters even better is watching the two factions duke it out in the background. End it with a huge Chimera boss from the Resistance series, and this stage would be a fantastic addition.
2. New Marais/Rapture
I know exactly what most of you are thinking – Rapture is an underwater city, how would that even work?! Well, as fans of the inFamous series may remember, there was a section of New Marais that was completely flooded. Due to the wackiness of PS All Stars (as seen in the Hades/Patapon level) what if this area was far worse than a usual flood due to the events that have transpired? What if underneath all of this water was indeed Rapture? This would make for an interesting stage due to the fact that battles could not only take place on dry land but in an underwater city. This would of course change the gameplay up a bit, adding more of a challenge to players. Plus, it would also make for a nice third party stage addition.
3. Deserts (Uncharted/Jak 3/Journey)
How many of us DIDN’T imagine a little Easter egg during Uncharted 3′s desert sequence featuring some sort of little Jak & Daxter reference? Even if, imagine how awesome it would be to get a beautiful desert stage with this city background seen in the above image. To mash up a few different ideas, I can imagine seeing some Jak 3 characters driving around in the many vehicles seen in the game. On occasion, perhaps even a little Journey reference. Would be cool to see the main character floating around in the backdrop.
