Are you one of the people exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and are highly anticipating Skyrim’s first expansion pack, Dawnguard, then we have some terrible news for you.
Skyrim: Dawnguard was made available on Steam yesterday, leaving the PS3 the only platform with Skyrim not to receive the expansion pack. It’s no secret that the PS3 version of Skyrim was notorious for its countless glitches and it seems as though Bethesda is taking a precaution and delaying the DLC indefinitely until they feel it will be satisfactory.
The publisher posted on the Bethesda Blog:
We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.
I believe it’s always better to delay a product rather than release it while it’s buggy and nearly unplayable. When we get a release date for Dawnguard’s PSN release, we’ll be sure to let you know!
