Check out to see if your favorite variations of these iconic PlayStation heroes made the cut in our top eight alternate costumes we want to see in PlayStation All-Stars!
It has been confirmed that those who pre-order PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will get ten exclusive alternate costumes for the following characters:
- Big Daddy
- Colonel Radec
- Fat Princess
- Heihachi
- Kratos
- Nathan Drake
- PaRappa the Rapper
- Sly Cooper
- Sweet Tooth
- Toro
Well, we at iGo Gaming aspire to see some more alternate costumes for the other revealed characters, some to provide throwbacks, others just because they’re simply bad ass. Check out the list and let us know what other costumes you want to see for each character in the comments section below!
8. ‘Jak X’ Jak & Daxter (with pants)
There is no denying that Jak looked ultimately bad ass in Jak X, with his sweet looking racing jacket and buzzed hair. Jak looked like your ultimate racer in the title, and would sure go along well in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Not to mention the character model of Daxter is missing something – pants! So it’d be nice to see the Daxter model get a little change as well.
7. ‘Ratchet: Deadlocked’ Ratchet & Clank
I cannot deny I have not even played Ratchet: Deadlocked. However, after seeing his character model following the announcement of an HD remaster, I couldn’t help but think how bad ass Ratchet looks in his new gear for the title. Clank’s appearance doesn’t do much changing throughout the series, so his original appearance will still remain. This alternate costume will surely bring a sense of joy to fans of the series.
6. The Many Sackboys
Sackboy would probably have the most inventive alternate costumes out of the entire roster (so far). For starters, Sackboy can pretty much be anybody. So how can this problem be resolved? Well, as already seen in his level 1 super, Sackboy can become any one of the players in the roster. So how awesome would it be to see the entire roster at his disposal? Want a Sackboy looking like Dante or Nathan Drake? Select the Nathan Drake or Dante alternate costume. It would be a great nod to the LittleBigPlanet series to see an alternate costume for Sackboy resembling characters seen in the game’s final roster. Would also be the first time we get to see Sackboy dress up as PaRappa the Rapper or Fat Princess. Make it happen, SuperBot.
5. ‘Original’ Cole
Not necessarily the original character design, but the original gear. inFamous 2 gave players the alternate skin, which was the new Cole design rocking the old gear that the original Cole wore. The look was given a neat new touch, and still had the classic touch to it. It would be nice to see that same alternate costume make it into PlayStation All-Stars, allowing players to use the old threads of Cole MacGrath. Evil Cole MacGrath can utilize the same alternate costume, except with the ultimate looking red design. What would be even sweeter is if Evil Cole MacGrath has that awesome looking black lightning with the red outline. Then again, I seemed to be the only person who liked that.
4. ‘Classic’ Spike
While I have no problems with the design choice for Spike seen in PlayStation All-Stars now, it would still be cool to see the classic design of the character seen on the original PSOne title. Sporting the red jacket and jean shorts, this costume would sure bring a sense of nostalgia to an already classic character.
3. ‘Classic’ Sir Daniel
Fans were super excited to see this PlayStation icon make it into the PlayStation brawler composed of other icons. However, certain fans were crying out to see that the design was based on the PSP remake. Personally, I don’t mind the slimmer look at all. However, I would still like to see the classic look as well, to throw even more nostalgia into this already nostalgic character. Also would be nice to see his original sword along with the original, bulky armor look. Not to mention the bulky look suits the slow but powerful gameplay Sir Daniel looks to have in PlayStation All-Stars.
2. ‘Metal Gear Solid 2′ Raiden
Despite the negative reactions, who can sit here and say the Cyborg Raiden does not look and act awesome? Cyborg Raiden is a superb character with a sweet looking design and a very bad ass attitude. However, there are valid arguments that he just doesn’t suit the taste of Metal Gear Solid fans everywhere. It is for that reason that it’s safe to assume we should get an alternate costume packing the original hero in his FOXHOUND gear from Metal Gear Solid 2. He could still utilize the same move set, with some superb speed and incredibly sword swinging attacks.
1. ‘Non-emo’ Dante
I am merely one of the many who was extremely upset about the inclusion of the new, emo-looking Dante set to appear in Ninja Theory’s DmC. Quite frankly, it isn’t even the poor design that bothers me about his inclusion it is just the fact that he isn’t a PlayStation All-Star. The character Dante surely is, but this reboot Dante isn’t. DmC hasn’t even been released yet, and he’s being regarded as an All-Star? Questionable character choice indeed. Since the move sets between the classic Dante and new Dante aren’t all that much different at all, it’d surely be to great fan pleasure that the classic Dante makes an appearance in a game as well, even as just an alternate costume. Would make a lot of fans of this classic series happy, myself included.
There’s the list! Have any other costumes you wanna see make the cut? Let us know in the comments below.
