Your power’s out, your PS3 shuts off; what do you do? Simple. Make sure your Vita is charged, and run through some games you may have missed out on! Check out iGo Gaming’s top 5 list of games to play during Hurricane Sandy.
5. Any PSOne Classic You Downloaded
Downloaded a bunch of PSOne classics that you haven’t gotten a chance to play? Go for it! Play some Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider or anything released before your time (or during). If you’ve purchased them on your PS3 and are yet to download them on your Vita, better hurry up before the power goes out. At that point, you’re pretty much screwed. That is unless you have one of the other games listed below.
4. Street Fight X Tekken
Street Fighter X Tekken has been out on the PlayStation 3 for some time now, but it was only recently released on the PlayStation Vita. With loads of extra content – including extra characters, costumes and the such – this handheld version is sure to keep you playing for hours on end. Pick up the arcade mode and run through each tag team’s ladder and catch the awesome endings that unfold for each. Run through the tons of challenges in the game, and even test run the touch screen capabilities if you haven’t already. Packing the same punch as the console version, Street Fighter X Tekken Vita is sure to keep players busy during the power outages.
3. Sound Shapes
I loved Sound Shapes. The game packed oodles and oodles of content in such a small package, and was an absolute blast to play. However, it is safe to assume that the difficult challenges that come with the game weren’t completed by everyone just yet. So those on the East Coast who didn’t get to finish Death Mode, now is your chance more than ever. If you can face Hurricane Sandy, I’m sure you can pull through the struggles and excruciatingly difficult challenges that come with Sound Shapes.
2. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale [Public Beta]
I know, I know. Technically this isn’t a game, but still! The PlayStation All-Stars Public Beta has been live for some weeks now, and it is ending October 30. So those stuck at home right now during this storm, now is your best chance to get a last few games in before the power outages really start hitting! If the power is already out for others on the East Coast, all hope is not lost! Get into the game’s tutorial mode and destroy Sweet Tooth countless amounts of time up until the point you pretty much master PaRappa the Rapper. Best part of that is you’ll be able to say “I know how to use PaRappa completely!” by the game’s launch. That is, of course, unless you suck in which…well…yeah.
1. LittleBigPlanet PS Vita
If you didn’t see this making the list, I don’t know what games you have been playing on this glorious handheld. LittleBigPlanet’s community has been hard at work on the PS Vita version, and there are some spectacular levels out there already. Now, if you still have power, your best bet is to start downloading tons of community levels now to prepare yourself to play during your power outages. If your power is already out, you can always try and master the game’s creation tools. Partake in each of the tutorials and try and master each tool used to create. Feel you are done with that, or you’re already a master at creation? That’s cool, go back to the story and collect everything you can to create these superb levels or even start working on your next masterful creation. All in all, there is never anything you can’t do in LittleBigPlanet.
Any other games you see yourself playing during this disaster? Don’t be afraid to leave comments below on what you’ll be playing. Prayers go out to anyone stuck during this disaster, and hoping for the best. Happy gaming from iGo Gaming.
