Square Enix announced yesterday that there have been one million beta registrations for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in the Americas.
The massive scale RPG recently went into Beta Phase 3 on June 14 and allowed access for PS3 gamers to test the MMO before its release on August 27, while its been in beta for PC since December 2o12.
A Realm Reborn is a relaunch of the original 2010 title Final Fantasy XIV, which was universally panned by critics and players alike for its critical bugs and rushed development. Due to its issues, the PS3 version was delayed indefinitely and forced Square Enix to allow players to play the game for free until January 2012.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was announced in October 2011 and is expected to be released on August 27 on PC and PS3. A standard edition will be available for $39.99 on PS3 and $29.99 on PC. A collector’s edition will be available for $79.99 and $69.99 on the PS3 and PC, respectively. A PlayStation 4 version is currently in development. Check back at iGo Gaming in the coming weeks for beta impressions.
